  1. I was thinking about purchasing this book after reading about it in “Health” magazine. One reader wrote in to recommend it and mentioned something about the program costing “$10,000. 00″ I found that surprising and wanted to page through the book to see what was so wonderful. I stopped my “free” reading when I came across a comment that placed “South Beach Diet” and other “low-carb/high protein” diets in a paragraph talkng about “fad diets. ” Obviously this author did not take the time to research the diets he wants to label as “fads. ” A cardiologist wrote this “heart healthy” diet book and I challenge anyone to find anything “fad” like about it (except of course if you consider giving up sugar and junk food a “bad fad”). I’m not going to waste my money on this book and also wonder, if this diet is so great, how come the other “reviewers” have had to go the “House” time and time again. Obviously they have way too much money and not enough will power to change bad habits.

I bought this book because it was listed on several web sites as a top diet book. I (and my best friend) ordered the book and we both totally thought it was the lamest. Further, the calories that they suggested i eat with their formula would have put me in the 800 calorie range, basically a starvation diet. I wish that I had not ordered it- save your money as this book has no new ideas or suggestions from any other marginal diet book.

  3. This book makes you think about all aspects of your life, not just your weight, and how being overweight is really just a sign of an “unstructured” lifestyle.

This book isn’t just about a specific diet because we all know while we are on any diet, we loose weight until we get off it. It is about our entire relationship with food and how when that relationship is out of balance and we eat for nonnutritional needs, such as loneliness, anger, boredom, sadness etc we gain weight. It gives the tools for us to control food rather than food controlling us and to examine what emotions lead us to the refrigerator and how we can work thru them without turning to food. It takes us on a journey that solves our weight problem, once and for all.

I’m so excited about this book that I’m leading a weight loss class (free of charge) in order to help others get healthy. Structure House Weight Loss Plan is a no-nonsense approach to discovering why we overeat and teaches strategies for healthy behavior changes. I’m not only losing weight, but am learning how to eat healthy for the rest of my life. In the past I’ve tried at least a dozen different weight loss plans over a span of 30 years. I lost the most (47 pounds) on Weight Watchers. However, over a 4 year period, I spent nearly $2,000 at meetings and regained nearly all of my weight. Structure House teaches not only how to eat healthy, but also how to stop the unhealthy eating (snacking, overeating and poor choices). I’ve learned how to read food labels, plan balanced meals and grocery shop according to a healthy menu. I haven’t read the entire book yet, as I’ve only had it a few weeks, but have already lost 7 pounds. Yes, common sense is still alive and well here.
